When do I use a concept paper?
ReplyDeleteGood question karen :)
DeleteA concept paper is a document used to convince a panel of potential funders to help a product, program, or service becomes a reality. Your teacher will play the role of the sponsor and you have to convince him or her that your project is worth your time and effort.
Is it necessary to use the concept paper?
ReplyDeleteit depends on the situation, if you start a funded project design I suggest to use concept paper for developing more competitive proposals and to save time by eliminating proposals that are not likely to be funded.
DeleteWhere and when it is needed to use a concept paper?
ReplyDeleteJolina :)
DeleteA concept paper is a document written to convince potential funders to sponsor a product, program or service. Concept papers vary in format and specifics depending on the organization, but are generally concise documents containing information, statistics and persuasive arguments.
Hi Maam Cheska! What is the asset of using a concept paper?
ReplyDeleteVera, the asset of using a concept paper is if you want the sponsor to be interested in reading the whole concept paper so try to gain the reader’s interest. You need to demonstrate that you understand the mission of the funding agency and the types of projects that they support.
Deleteis it possible that the content of a concept paper change?
ReplyDeleteHannah are you referring to the content of the concept paper or to the way you create the concept paper because it is possible to change the content of the concept paper just create your own concept paper regarding to the topic you want to create.
DeleteI am referring to the content ma'am. Thank you :)
Deletewhat is the advantage of using concept paper in planning some stuff?
ReplyDeleteThe advantage of the concept paper is to capture the interest of the funding agency and demonstrate that the idea he/she is proposing and how is worthy the concept paper he/she create.
DeleteCan we just use other method or ways in planning ma'am? If in some case, we are not used to it?
ReplyDeleteCesiah, I guess there are other ways in creating a concept paper but the purpose or the benefits of the concept paper are the same.
DeleteDo we really need to use this everytime despite the fact that some of the elements of concept paper is not needed? If there is a case.
ReplyDeleteGerly, I think you really need to use the elements of the concept paper because it identify what are the missions of your project and the funding agencies information or it describe any partner agencies that will be involved and their interest in the project.
DeleteWhat would be the effect if i didn't follow the steps stated?
ReplyDeleteIt would be a problem if you don't follow the steps because it concisely describe what you plan to do, how would you develop the concept paper, release & promotions, and maintenance with regards to your concept paper.
Deletewhat is the pros and cons of concept paper?
ReplyDeleteAdvantages
Delete1. Concept notes have many advantages for seeking funds, as it practically gives a framework for ideas when they are organised on paper (FUNDS FOR NGOs 2010).
2. It is also the first expression of the project and gives the flexibility for the organisation to work and re-work on idea before presenting it to the donor (FUNDS FOR NGOs 2010).
3. Concept papers help donor assess whether or not the proposed project is aligned with its funding priorities and enables them to offer suggestions to the applicant before the submission of a full proposal.
4. As a concept note is much shorter than a full project proposal, less time and resources are needed to prepare a full project proposal.
Disadvantages
1.The preparation of concept notes costs time and money, and only in specific cases the project idea will fit a call of proposals.
2.Financing programs requesting concept notes for the first step of the selection process usually demand documents with a number of pages and words, which are not enough to communicate the project idea, making the preparation of a concept note a challenge for the participants.
3. Concept notes are generally binding documents submitted to donor agencies. After a participant has been invited to submit a full proposal, usually the aim of the project should be kept for the second step. However, the most you will research and prepare the document, you will find that the idea could be changed and even improved, but it might not be accepted by the selection committee.
So what is the "advantage" by using concept paper ?
ReplyDeleteJeriah, the advantage of a concept paper is to know the sponsor’s point of view for you to determine if the proposed project fits with the sponsor’s goals and has a chance for success.
DeleteOn what occasions should we definitely use this method?
ReplyDeleteA concept paper is a document written to convince potential funders to sponsor a product, program or service.
DeleteIn terms of values, what values do I need for me to be able to finish my concept paper properly?
ReplyDeleteIn that case you need to be patient and
Deleteindustrious in doing your concept paper. :)
Maam, do you have some methods or another concept that is more easier and fast to present?
ReplyDeleteI guess there are other ways in creating a concept paper but the purpose or the benefits of the concept paper are just the same. In making concept paper you need to be patient because you might spend a lot of time in making concept paper because their is no way that you can make a concept paper as fast as you want.
DeleteIs it important to follow the procedure? Or is it okay to reshuffle it?
ReplyDeleteyou need to follow the steps because you cannot start without any plans on making your concept paper, then you need to develop your ideas, then the actual release of the website for public view and promoting it and lastly the maintenance of your project which involves responding to feedback of your site visitors
DeleteMa'am how could we know if the concept we are in is perfect concept for the project that we are going to make?
ReplyDeleteyou just need to follow the procedure and process on making your concept into a project.
DeleteMa'am. Is it okay that we have our own concept in planning?
ReplyDeletemaybe but I suggest that have an idea with the procedure or process I include in this blog because it is the way of making the concept paper and for making the plans for the concept you create.

DeleteWhat if we are in a rush in making a project is it necessary to do a concept paper?
ReplyDeleteYes it is necessary to make the concept paper because the concept paper may also be used as an instructional tool that may have developed as a result of extensive research, committee input and/or as a result of the outcome of a current project.
Deleteshould we always used this concept paper in making project?
ReplyDeleteyes, because this allows experts to see if your project is doable over the time frame that was given and if it is significant enough to be made into reality.
DeleteIf it is really need to use concept paper?
ReplyDeleteit depends on the situation, if you start a funded project design I suggest to use concept paper for developing more competitive proposals and to save time by eliminating proposals that are not likely to be funded.
DeleteWhat will happen if we only have 4 elements in the concept paper? Is it okay or not? For ex. We forgot to put the contact information?
ReplyDeleteI think it is not good if you forgot to put contact information because it includes information on how your group be contacted.
DeleteMa'am I don't know how to use it can you help me how? If this concept has useful in our project. and etc.

DeleteWhen did this idea of concept papers started?
ReplyDeleteactually I don't have any idea when did the concept paper started :(
DeleteWhat are concept papers for? Does it need to be persuasive? Why?
ReplyDeleteConcept papers generally serve the purpose of providing in-depth discussion of a topic that the writer has a strong position on, usually with the intent of obtaining funding for that project from donors.
DeleteDoes it need to be persuasive? Why?yes, because it providing guidance for implementation of a program and also it is a document written to convince potential funders to sponsor a product, program or service.
Ma'am what is the importance of planning in making ICT project?
ReplyDeleteand What is connect of social change in making concecpt papes or just a graph paper for your group project?
In the cases where the concept paper is written with the intent of receiving funding, most grantors publish guidelines that instruct the writer(s) on how to write the concept paper that they will consider funding. For concept papers that are used more as an instructional or educational tool, the format may be similar with the exception of the exclusion of charts, graphs or budgets that may be geared toward the solicitation of funding.
DeleteIs it okay if one of those elements is not on the concept papers?
ReplyDeleteNo because all the elements there are important with regards to creating a concept paper.

DeleteCan I make my own steps? How it affects my project?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to create your own steps, it may affects your project like you create a concept paper with lack of information about the project you want to make but if the steps you are going to do is also based on the process I include in this blog maybe its just the same as making a concept paper with the procedure you create.
Deletei think others not used some of those concept paper.
ReplyDeletemariz, why do you think so?
DeleteMa'am ICT is important to you?why?
ReplyDeleteyes, because as a future educator I usually used the technology with regards to the subject I teach and we all know that we are living in a world which becomes so dependent on technology. we all prefer to use technology, apps , internet etc in our life in various ways. And this time technology is playing very important role in education. Technology makes communication very easy.
DeleteMa'am isn't about having a profit just by introducing a socially valued campaign? Because it's convenience is to gain sponsors for your project, and I think it includes giving the admin a credit by paying them a salary. Well i guess no one will spend or waste their time in doing such a thing if they will gain nothing from it. Another question: Is the topic of a project proposal depends on the demand of your target sponsors or you could just start using any social relevant topic you want?
ReplyDeleteIf I forget to put the Contact Information, is it still be called Concept paper?
ReplyDeleteyes, because if you include the other four elements like introduction, purpose, description, support it is still be called concept paper.
Deletethank you Joey :)
ReplyDeleteyes, you can use other steps in creating concept paper because its just the same in benefits and purpose of creating the concept paper.

ReplyDeletehi maam :) what does Simplified ICT Project Process Overview means?
ReplyDeleteHi! First of all, I'd like to thank you for making this blog. It helped me a lot in planning my lesson for Empowerment Technologies. My question now is, since the course is good for 1 sem only (5 months), how do you find the 'maintenance' of the project necessary for grading the students? Also, I've been reading the previous comments and you made it clear that the concept paper is important mostly because it attracts or may convince potential funders. I see that the concept paper is very important, however, for a 5-month course like this, is it really necessary to have or find sponsors?
ReplyDeleteThank you in advance! :)
Ma'am, can I ask a favor? Can you give some possible topics, related to my course ICT? Please.
